Summer Nights and Events 2027

That’s the sound of summer in Ticino!

In 2027, the Locarno Film Festival celebrates its 80th edition. During these days, Piazza Grande is transformed into one of the most impressive open-air cinemas in the world. Filmmakers from across the globe walk the red carpet and present their latest works.

JazzAscona

24 June to 3 July 2027

For ten days, JazzAscona brings the sound of New Orleans to Ascona’s lakeside promenade, just a few minutes from Brissago. Around 15 concerts a day create the perfect holiday vibe: from New Orleans jazz to swing, blues, gospel and soul.

Best of all: all concerts are free, and you can stroll comfortably on foot through the old town from one stage to the next.

Culture and history

If you are not in the mood for feasting, window shopping or swimming, Ticino also offers a wide range of cultural activities. Cities in Ticino

Ascona nestles idyllically on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore. The mild climate, the beautiful old town with its winding alleyways and the many inviting street cafés on the lakeside promenade make Ascona popular far beyond the country's borders.

Locarno, situated on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore, is the warmest city in Switzerland and, with over 2,300 hours of sunshine, the ideal place for sun-seekers.
