Excursion to Parco Ciani – gateway to the lake
The lake is calm and inky blue. The majestic mountain peaks tower up in the background, there are colourful flower-beds on all sides - as pretty as a picture - and, framing this perfect scene, a pair of magnificent 18th century gates. Which lovers would not want to immortalise their love in such a romantic spot?
Use your Ticino Ticket to take the bus from the hotel to the railway station in Locarno, then the train to Lugano. Then walk to the Parco Ciani to discover this gateway to paradise!
Excursion to Lavertezzo

A little tropical paradise in the middle of the lake. The Botanical Garden was the result of Baroness Antoinette de Saint Léger's great passion for plants. The baroness chose to make the island her home in 1885 and went on to transform it into an exotic garden.
